You Ignored Me | 16.5″ x 11.5″ oil on craft wood, 2012
To offer a word of advice would have cost you but a few spent breaths and it would have meant the world to me. There can be no doubt I could have travelled a far different path.

Spacegirl And The Verse | 60″ x 48″ acrylic and oil on canvas, 2012
You can learn all the math in the ‘Verse, but you take a boat in the air that you don’t love, she’ll shake you off just as sure as the turning of the worlds.

This was supposed to be an entry to Graphika Manila this year. Sadly it did not make the deadline. Real sad.

“I’m not saying that I’m going to rule the world, or I’m gonna change the world. But I guarrantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world. And that’s our job: it’s to spark somebody else watching us.” -Tupac Shakur” — 5:47

Once you start to speak, people will yell at you. They will interrupt you, put you down and suggest it’s personal. And the world won’t end.

And the speaking will get easier and easier. And you will find you have fallen in love with your own vision, which you may never have realized you had. And you will lose some friends and lovers, and realize you don’t miss them. And new ones will find you and cherish you. And you will still flirt and paint your nails, dress up and party, because, as I think Emma Goldman said, “If I can’t dance, I don’t want to be part of your revolution.” And at last you’ll know with surpassing certainty that only one thing is more frightening than speaking your truth. And that is not speaking.

I have been holed up in my art cave for weeks, and I am quite stoked to finally present my work to the world in this nifty little solo exhibit. People in Manila, I invite you to please come and see! ♥

I shall also be posting the work online afterwards, for all the awesome people of the internet. :)

The House of Asterion | Graphite & digital, 2012
Based on a short story of the same title by Jorge Luis Borges.

I went back to revisit this old concept from two summers ago. I’ve been working on adding a more dynamic look to my work and this is my first attempt at that. It’s a little different from my usual dreamscapes, but I do feel good with the exercise. :)
